A Court of Book Lovers
Join us all summer long as we reread and prepare for the new releases to the ACTOAR book series by Sarah J. Maas! We'll chat about characters, plots, themes, and theories from the epic series. Beginning in May and running through September, we'll meet the first Tuesday of each month. For July, plan to chat about book #3, “A Court of Wings & Ruin.” We'll have goodies to share, refreshments, and something exciting planned for each month! Adults only, please.
Adult Coloring
Join us at the library for adult coloring as we gather around to enjoy coffee, quiet conversation, and a relaxing afternoon of coloring. Supplies will be provided, but you are also more than welcome to bring your favorite coloring supplies.
Teen Smash Bros Tournament
Do you think you're the best at Smash Bros?! Come prove it in this bracket style tournament played on the Nintendo Switch. No sign ups required, just show up ready to prove your skills. Open to all middle and high school students.

Ignite Lab (formerly PNG)
Ignite Lab is the new name for PNG, a grant program designed for public libraries to mentor youth ages 10-18 in gaining life skills, developing skills to use various technologies, and engaging students in educational programs. Our library has participated in this grant program since 2001! Ignite Lab is open to all students in middle school AND high school.
Little Ones Story Time + Play Group
Join Miss Emily for a short and sweet story time for babies ages 6 months to 2 years. Featuring stories, songs, rhymes, and play! After stories and songs, families will have time to play, socialize, and enjoy with the provided toys and activities.
Bubble Wonderland
Bubble, bubbles, everywhere! Pop on by the library to enjoy an hour of bubble fun from Foam & Flight (Springfield)! There will be bubble stations and a Bubble-ologist along with family friendly music. This event is open to all ages, please attend with your child under the age of 7. This event will be outside. Bottles of water will be available.
Cave-In-Rock Pirates & Outlaws by Todd Carr
Local historian Todd Carr will be joining us to talk about the river pirates, horse thieves, and highwaymen who plagued southeastern Illinois from the 1790s through the 1830s. Free and open to the public – no library card required.
Art for Littles
Bring your little ones to create and make! Art for Littles is open to little ones ages 1-3. We may get a little messy, so wear appropriate clothes. (Paint shirts are available if you forget!). Breakfast & Building
Builders, unite! Come to free play and build with Lego, wooden blocks, cards, puzzles, and more! Snacks and drinks provided. Open to ages 4-12, please attend with your child under the age of 7. Younger siblings welcome, but note that small pieces will be included in varieties of building toys.
Teen Duct Tape Art
Let's rewind to the early 2000's where the most popular thing to do was to use duct tape to make your everyday items! Learn how to make a wallet, slap bracelet, and more during this retro activity! Open to all middle and high school students -- no library card required!

Teen After Hours
The tribe has spoken... you are invited! Teens, think you can survive the deserted Library? Sign up for this Survivor themed after hours event if you dare!
Teens will be placed on two teams to compete in head to head challenges to earn their team points! There will be activities that will challenge your stamina, brain power, and creative thinking! The team with the highest points will earn a trophy prize and bragging rights.
This is a parent free event. Please fill out the Google Form (https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSc2Zzmq5J3T9p.../viewform) or come into the library for a paper copy. A permission slip will need to be picked up from the library either day of the event or beforehand and signed by an adult. Teens who show up without a signed permission slip will not be able to attend. Participants must be between 12 and 18 to join in on the fun. This activity will take place after the library closes between 6PM-8PM on Saturday, July 18th. It will be supervised by Miss Kaitlyn, Miss Hadleigh and volunteers.
We will provide snacks, drinks, and a meal during this time.
All teens must be dropped off no later than 5:30PM so they can be checked into the event. Pickup will start at 7:30 and all teens must be picked up no later than 8:00PM. This program is free for all teens and there is no library card required.

Stop by the library as a local lawyer hosts a session of Lawyer in the Library! This initiative allows for free 20-minute meetings to assist you with legal coaching, document review, referrals to additional community services, and legal questions. Just bring any paperwork that relates to your legal matter. There are no fees or pre-registration, but time slots fill up fast as it is first-come, first-serve. You may sign up IN PERSON ONE HOUR before the first session begins.

Do you like junk journaling? Prefer bullet journaling? Or just want a space to relax and craft without any pressure? Stop by Bits & Pieces Journal Club for a chill space with no expectations. Please bring your journal, and we will have other crafty supplies available. Open to teens and adults (ages 12+).
Teen Fun Night: Hamilton
Teens, let's celebrate this upcoming 4th of July in style by watching and singing along to Hamilton: The Musical (Rated PG-13). We will have red, white, and blue snacks and crafts to enjoy! Open to all middle and high school students.
Toddler Dance Party
Dance on down to the library! Open to toddlers 2 and up. Dance to some great tunes and jam out with Miss Emily. There will be foam glow sticks and bubbles! No library card required.

Free Summer Concert
Join The Action Team for a Better Saline County and Harrisburg District Library at the Harrisburg Amphitheater (121 North Veterans Drive) for a 7 pm sunset concert! We will have two opening acts (Lillian Crawford and TBD) and then headliner Isaiah Cunningham.
Bring your dinner or grab some food and snacks from the food trucks.
This family friendly event will feature a book walk sponsored by the Southeastern Illinois Community Health Coalition's Healthy Lifestyles Action Team.
Funding for this event was provided by a grant from Artspace Southern Illinois's Southern Arts fund, and partially supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council as well as from Funding Good Chaos and generous private donors.

Join Ms. Sherry, our genealogy librarian, to trace your roots at Genealogy Work Day! She will be available to assist with your family history research. You'll also have access to resources such as microfilms, local history books, and online databases such as Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest.
Stitches Society: A Quilting and Sewing Club
Are you a quilter? Do you love to sew? Do you want to learn how to sew and/or quilt? Be sure to join us at Quilting and Sewing Club where are all levels are welcome. Feel free to bring your own supplies, but also you can use some of our stash. Open to high schoolers and adults.

Thursday Night Book Discussion with Kaitlyn Hanks
Thursday Night Book Discussion will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM, with a community member leading a discussion on a book of their choice. Light refreshments are provided, and all are welcome. June’s discussion will be led by our young adult librarian, Kaitlyn Hanks, as she discusses young adult/teen books.

Teens, join Miss Kaitlyn for a crafternoon of CD scratch art printing. Then Tiki from Egyptian Health Department & the B.A.S.E. (Build. Amplify. Support. Empower.) Program will lead us in a paint-a-pot craft. Open to all middle and high school students -- anyone with or without a library card.
Pink Party
If your favorite color is PINK, this day is for you! Celebrate your love of the color and come dressed in head-to-toe pink! Join Miss Emily and Miss Hadleigh for fun activities and sweet snacks at the library, for ages 5 to 12. This event will be come and go. Please attend with your child if they are under 7. Siblings are welcome, but activities will be geared directly towards the 5-12 age group. Open to those with or without a library card!
Throwback Trivia for Adults
As part of our “Library Rewind” we will be having Throwback Trivia! Test your knowledge of the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s. Bring a friend and see who knows the most! Light refreshments will be available. Adults only, please.
Adult Dungeons & Dragons Session Zero for Campaign 2
Adults 18 and up are more than welcome to join this Session Zero with Dungeon Master Jeff. Jeff will be leading you through the story of Lost Mines of Phandelver where you will be focused on finding the lost mine as part of a mining expedition crew. This campaign will be featuring gold and jewels as replacements for standard gold pieces, and mini games for finding treasure. Come learn about this campaign and the places it will take you while developing characters that align with the story! Here is your chance to make mini figurines, character sheets, and friendships along the way. Spots are limited and will be capped at 10.
