Thursday Night Book Discussion will meet on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:00 PM, with a community member leading a discussion on a book of their choice. Light refreshments are provided, and all are welcome. July’s discussion will be led by Lindsey Atkins as she discusses the newest Dan Brown book, The Secret of Secrets. It is not required that you read the book before attending.

Ignite Lab is the new name for PNG, a grant program designed for public libraries to mentor youth ages 10-18 in gaining life skills, developing skills to use various technologies, and engaging students in educational programs. JINKIES! This Scooby Doo escape room will be a collaborative program between kids and teens, best for ages 6-18. Join the gang to solve the latest mystery in Coolsville, the most infamous goons and ghouls are on the loose! Fred needs your help setting up the traps, Velma needs a set of hands to figure out the clues, Daphne needs an extra pair of keen eyes, and Scooby and Shaggy wanna know if you'll do it for a Scooby Snack?! Load up in the Mystery Machine and head to the Library for this free for all program with no library card required!

Join us for an evening of crafting without technology. There will be a variety of crafts to make including friendship bracelets, perler beads, and more! Adults only, please.

The tribe has spoken... you are invited! Teens, think you can survive the deserted Library? Sign up for this Survivor themed after hours event if you dare!

Teens will be placed on two teams to compete in head to head challenges to earn their team points! There will be activities that will challenge your stamina, brain power, and creative thinking! The team with the highest points will earn a trophy prize and bragging rights.

This is a parent free event. Please fill out the Google Form (https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSc2Zzmq5J3T9p.../viewform) or come into the library for a paper copy. A permission slip will need to be picked up from the library either day of the event or beforehand and signed by an adult. Teens who show up without a signed permission slip will not be able to attend. Participants must be between 12 and 18 to join in on the fun. This activity will take place after the library closes between 6PM-8PM on Saturday, July 18th. It will be supervised by Miss Kaitlyn, Miss Hadleigh and volunteers.

We will provide snacks, drinks, and a meal during this time.

All teens must be dropped off no later than 5:30PM so they can be checked into the event. Pickup will start at 7:30 and all teens must be picked up no later than 8:00PM. This program is free for all teens and there is no library card required.

Teens, come enjoy a blast from the past at the Library! This program takes teens back to the 50's and 60's where music was best enjoyed by dancing and getting groovy to the beats! All teens are encouraged to come dressed up in their best retro attire and take pictures at our themed photobooth. We will serve soda floats, popcorn and other treats. Local historian Todd Carr will be joining us to talk about the river pirates, horse thieves, and highwaymen who plagued southeastern Illinois from the 1790s through the 1830s. Free and open to the public – no library card required.
